By now, most of my holiday cards have gone out. This year, I didn't put together a letter of the details of our lives. I figured I was doing well just by getting them done and mailed as last year, I didn't even get that far.
This year, I tried my hand at doing a family portrait with my makeshift studio (i.e. my kitchen). I have yet to invest in proper backgrounds and strobe lights, so I improvised with what I have. I am certainly still learning and know what I will do next time, but am pleased nonetheless. I used a template for a holiday card that I purchased through WHCC.
So if I had written a letter, I would probably talk about how big my boys have grown (now 16 and 13) and how happy my husband and I after three years of marriage. My kids and their talents and accomplishments continue to amaze me. As seen in a couple of my posts, my husband's skills as a woodworker has improved. He has taken up cycling again, and hopefully in 2009, we'll both be putting some miles on the road.
In addition to the news about my business, I would mention my move in my real job to become a product manager and my involvement with launching of my company's social tools. Both the photography and my work at the American Chemical Society present me with challenges and bring me a sense of satisfaction.
