I regularly get up early to get to work and lately, I to see've been continuing to get up early on the weekends to enjoy the morning light. Today I saw a beautiful sunrise, but I didn't photograph it because I was driving to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. I've been watching them carefully on my lunch hour and figured this morning they would be close to full bloom. I'm scheduled to see them on Tuesday at a sunrise photosafari, but there is a chance of rain that day. I wanted to see if I could get some good photos on a clear day and at full bloom.Although it was not as clear as I had hoped, the trees were near full bloom and I learned a great deal about the light. It was cold and there were lots of people out even by 7:30 AM. I spent nearly two hours walking around the tidal basin seeing the sites and getting some pictures. I'm hoping my photosafari on Tuesday will be better because of this reconnaissance work. It was exciting to see this springtime site, but I will admit, I was tired when I was done.
