As I set my clock last night to wake me at 4:30 AM, I realized that maybe I am crazy. I was preparing to the attend a Washington Photo Safari (All Digital-Sunrise with the Cherry Blossoms) My husband pointed out, though, that there was going to be a group of us and perhaps being part of a group didn't make me so crazy. Standing by the Reflecting Pool in the dark (at 6:30 AM) in the RAIN made me question whether he was right or not. It seemed to be a better day to be a duck.
Even though it was rainy, the cherry blossoms were beautiful, and Melanie, our instructor kept commenting how few other people were around. The area around the blossoms was empty and it was easy to get some interesting pictues.
I made it back to my office by 10AM a bit muddy and wet and tired from at least 2 or 3 miles of walking.Having seen my some of my photos, I was pleasantly surprised at how good some of the shots were. I am now very interested in going back out on a cloudy morning or even a rainy morning. Maybe I'll be more prepared with a rain jacket, hat, and a cover for my camera, but I love the light.
I suspect this means I really am a bit insane.
