Last night was the first night in a while that I had time and it wasn't dark and rainy. So while waiting for dinner to finish cooking, I went out and to the front yard. As soon as I was done eating, I was back at it as the lighting was great. The grape hyacinths and cherry trees are probably just past their peak but I was able to get some decent shots in the evening light. I also captured our rhododendrum which is just about to peak -- the buds are a marvelous hot pink color but the blooms themselves are a gentle pink.
I finally moved to the backyard to work with the dogwoods. I'm not sure if the blooms on the trees are just not fully opened or if our trees don't get enough light and are not the healthiest. The blooms have a funny and interesting curl. I decided there is quite a bit of interest and beauty in the imperfect.
