Instead of going to yoga or going for a walk, I spent some time on the back porch photographing the tulip poplar (tree) bloom that was hanging near the porch. Then I went on to work with two inexpensive dahlias that I picked up at Trader Joe's yesterday. It was very cool and quiet and there was no breeze. It was cloudidy and the lighting was great.
In the afternoon, we went to Great Falls (Maryland side, which is also called the C&O Canal National Historic Park). It was raining, but we figured it would still be good to see. Surprisingly, lots of people were there in spite of the rain. The Potomac River was roaring. Because it was raining and my husband and son were with me, I didn't spend a lot of time taking pictures. My son was good enough to hold the umbrella over the camera when I found something I wanted to capture. I hope to go back sometime soon, as there is so much to see.
