I took today off of work to spend some time with Eric, my younger son. There was a whole list of stuff we considered doing -- the air show, the zoo, Great Falls -- but it was raining pretty steady in the morning. In the afternoon, it began to clear so we decided to see the balloons at the Preakness Balloon Festival. Unfortunately, it had not really stopped raining enough for them to get the balloons out. We waited around at the site (Turf Valley), but the weather never cooperaterated. We were out in the direction, so we decided to go to the cemetary.
After finding my first husband's grave, we walked around and took pictures of some of the evergreens. They were budding with new growth and miniature pinecones. The rain on the needles was also interesting. Eric found some interesting drops of sap on the tree trunk.
Wanting to give my husband and my other son some time at home to get their work done, we decided to stay out for a bit longer. We wemt down to the reservoir. The water was up and the blackberry bushes were in bloom. I had my tripod so I think I got some nice pictures of thes lovely white flowers.
