Yesterday, I took pictures at a co-worker's daughter's baptism. The photographer he had previously booked, cancelled on him at the last minute and he was desparate. I warned him that I didn't have a lot of practice taking pictures of people, but because of the holiday weekend, I would do it. This would become my first paying gig.
I arrived at the church early so I could look around. The family arrived soon after and we started. The priest explained to us what was going to happen, although to my amusement he did it in spanish. I can understand some spanish, but not that well so I got the summary from my friend. The service was lovely. It was a small group of family and close friends who showed such caring towards each other and this little girl. She was 15 months old and she was so beautiful in her white dress. I went to the party afterwards for a couple of hours and took pictures of the amazing cake her mother made and many of the guests. In the end, I was the one honored to be there and to try and capture this event. I hope that the photos do this event justice.
