This morning, our neighborhood was covered in a fog and I wasn't particularly early in getting out to take pictures. The fog was beginning to burnoff when I got outside and the mushrooms and the ground around them was very wet. So to get a good angle on the mushrooms, I had to lay on the ground. To keep me from totally getting wet, I used my yoga mat.
The first set of mushrooms were in our front yard and I was able to pull out some of the grass that was blocking my view. The second set were lining the area between the sidewalk and the street near the corner (still not far from my house). Of course, there were more people out since the neighborhood was having a yard sale and several people saw me on my yoga mat in the street trying to photograph these mushrooms. Some of the mushrooms were disintigrating and the ground was muddy, and in spite of my yoga mat, I still got wet and muddy.
The final set was of the fungi growing on the side of a tree up the street. It had an interesting structure. I'm hoping to go back when the lighting is different.
