Today we are on the edge of the Shenandoah Mountains in Virginia. We had to pick up my one son from his week at the Smithsonian Institute's Conservation Research Center. Since Front Royal was in the same general direction, we decided to head to Staunton to see a play at the BlackFriars Playhouse to see Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. (It was an exceptionally fun show to see.)
On our way to Staunton, we stopped at Shenandoah Caverns. It seemed a bit commercialized and the entrance fee was a bit high so we headed down I-81 to Endless Cavens. The caverns were filled with interesting formations and the tour went on for more than an hour and a half. We were a little late to our show, but in the end, it was definitely worth it.
