Our front yard is abloom with milkweed, black eyed-susans, cone-flowers, lillis, and other wild-type flowers. We attract lots of bees, moths, and an occasional butterfly. Yesterday, a swallowtail butterfly let me get close enough to get some decent shots. Unfortunately, he had a torn wing (which he probably got from letting something too close to him).
We have an interesting relative to the black-eyed susan which has some wonderful color. Finally, the first zinnia made an appearance. I'm looking forward to more zinnias and marigolds. We're hoping they will begin to naturalize on their own (like the black eyed susans). Maybe they are weeds, but they are beautiful ones.
