So on Wednesday this week, I brought my camera to work, with hopes of photographing some flowers I had seen from my busride into town. My first stop was P street, but when I got there, I discovered I had forgotten my memory card. That should have been a hint to just forget it, but being stubborn, I walked back to my office then out again. I wanted to walk to Meridian Hill park, which I later realized is about 1.4 miles away from my office.
Meridian Hill park sits on the last hill as one comes into downtown DC. It sits along 16th street, on the last big hill when traveling towards downtown. This older park that has been recently renovated and has a wonderful series of steps, fountains, and even some flowers. So I was walking up the steps to the upper part of the park and I tripped. I sort of fell, and my camera hit the ground, breaking the filter on one of my favorite lenses. It was also dented so I couldn't get the filter off. (Actually, my husband got it off later that night.) I was lucky that I had a spare lens with me and was able to take a picture of the lower part of the park from above.
