Last Friday, my husband and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary by taking the day off work and wandering around DC. We started at the Renwick gallery which featured an incredible display of woodturning. I couldn't take pictures of that, but I did get a picture of this interesting sculpture in the permanent collection.
From there, we headed east and walked by various parks and statues. At one point, we sat in the sun at while watching the ducks.
We ended up at the up the tower and to enjoy a view of the city.
Fron there, we headed towards the mall, and I was pleased by the lighting around the Smithsonian Institution castle.
We went to the and wandered the ocean exhibits. While waiting for iMax film, we saw the crocheted coral reef exhibits. This exhibit was a representation of coral reefs that was crocheted. It was amazing.
