I love going for my walks at lunchtime, and my usual route takes me down towards Constitution Ave. I pass Pennsylvania Avenue which has a great view of the Capitol. As I approach the Washington Monument, the sun is low enough in the sky that it hides behind the very tip. The flags were flying at half mast to honor those injured in the Arizona shooting, including Gabrielle Gifford. Finally, as I make my way around to 17th street to head north, there is this evergreen on the Ellipse that has seen some interesting times based on it's shape.
